Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a beam of high intensity light to cut through nearly all objects, with the rare exception of mirrors and other extremely polished surfaces. Laser is the acronym of Light Amplification through the Simulated Emission of Radiation. In this process, a laser gun sends out bursts of light of wavelengths from 380 to 740 nm to cut through objects. The three different colours of laser are green yellow orange, and red, and the colours depend on the frequency of the oscillation of the light (frequency).

What is laser cutting?

In this process, an individual uses a special gun that generates a high intensity beam of energy to cut through steel, wood, glass, and many other objects. These beams are accurate and it is possible to adjust their power based on requirements. A simple example is its employment in surgeries for emulsifying the internal lens of the eye to remove cataracts, using a surgical process known as phacoemulsification. What is the laser cutting process?

This is a thermal process in which the focussed beam of light melts material in a localized zone and nitrogen at high pressure is used to blow the molten metal out of the slit. In CNC laser cutters, operators move the cutting head over the metallic plate along the desired path, cutting the part out of the plate in the process. Laser beams can be used to cut a wide range of objects including plastics, thin metal sheets, depron foam, magnetic sheets, suede, leather, hemp, and much more.
